TAZEWELL COUNTY, Ill. – A 20-year-old woman from Florida is the victim in a fatal vehicle versus pedestrian crash early Wednesday morning.
Tazewell County Coroner Charles Hanley says the woman was pronounced dead at the scene just after seven-30 A-M.
The crash happened just after five A-M at the intersection of Route 24 and Grosenbach Road in East Peoria.
Hanley says the victim’s name is being withheld pending notification of family.
Illinois State Police say the victim is from Middleburg, Florida.
ISP also says the driver of the pickup was hospitalized with injuries from the crash.
An investigation by Illinois State Police and the Tazewell County Coroner’s Office continues.

Tazewell County Coroner Charles Hanley says the name of the victim is being withheld at this time, pending notification of family members.
Hanley says the crash occurred just after 5:00 A.M. at the intersection of Route 24 and Grosenbach Road.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene just after 7:30 A.M.
Hanley says an autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday afternoon.
The crash remains under investigation by Illinois State Police and the Tazewell County Coroner’s Office.

TAZEWELL COUNTY, Ill. – Illinois State Police say one person is dead after a car vs. pedestrian crash on Rt. 24 in East Peoria.
The crash happened just after 5 a.m. Wednesday on Rt. 24 westbound at the intersection with Grosenbach Rd.
State Police say the pedestrian was found dead in the roadway .
Westbound Rt. 24 was closed for roughly four hours for an investigation, and has since been reopened.
No additional information has been released. ISP is investigating.
