PEORIA, Ill. – The Peoria Area Chamber of Commerce will be looking for a new leader.
The chamber announced Monday that President and CEO Joshua Gunn will be stepping down from the role on May 31st. He will become President and C-E-O of the Glendale Chamber of Commerce in the Phoenix-area.
Gunn came to Peoria in July of 2020.
In a statement, the chamber says some of Gunn’s most notable accomplishments include creating the RISE Summit for young professionals, along with initiatives such as The Big Table and the Regional Workforce Alliance.
The chamber also says Gunn helped foster diversity and inclusivity on the Chamber’s staff, board, and membership.
“Peoria is truly a gem, and one of our nation’s best kept secrets. The dedicated people and businesses that make up this region are one-of-a-kind, and my family and I are privileged to have spent this time here. It has been an honor to serve as the leader of the Chamber and CEO Council and I am proud of the things we’ve accomplished together,” says Gunn.
The chamber says it’s “well-positioned” to build upon a foundation that Gunn had laid.
